Rabbi Tzvi Neuhaus, the Rav and founder of Miami Torah Center, is a well-known figure in the Miami Beach community. He dreamed of opening a thriving cheder for the local boys, filling a gap in the Miami Beach community’s infrastructure. So, he approached Rabbi Yaakov Burstyn, a 5th generation Miami native, and asked him to be the Menahel of a new local boys’ Cheder.
Guided by chinuch giants like Rabbi Nussi Muller, Rabbi Yaakov Bender, and Rav Lipa Geldwerth, Rabbi Neuhaus and Rabbi Burstyn worked to create a Home Educational Instructional Program (HEIP) that:
Emphasizes cultivating middos and Torah values
Focuses on academic excellence in both Limudei Kodesh and Chol
Provides one-on-one attention to each child
Attracts local families that are Bnei Aliyah and are looking to grow further
Is centrally located
Has a balanced, healthy hashkafah
Provides a consistently happy, wholesome, and warm atmosphere
About Ahavas Torah of Miami Beach
To some, their shul is the place they go when they need to catch a minyan. Ahavas Torah is different. It’s so much more than that. Over the past few years, Ahavas Torah has become a true center for learning, spiritual growth, and community for the entire Miami Beach neighborhood.
It’s The Cheder that Miami Beach has been waiting for.
